ASSESS: SPSS USERS GROUP

ONE-DAY WORKSHOP: INTRODUCTION TO IBM SPSS AMOS

A one day laptop workshop is provisionally planned to be held at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge on Friday 17th October 2025 led by Charles Dennis (University of Newcastle).

Students will gain most if they have already tried regression and exploratory factor analysis once or twice before. They should already be familiar with SPSS.


The course tutor, Charles Dennis, is Professor of Consumer Behaviour at The Business School, University of Newcastle (UK) and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Consumer Studies. His main teaching and research area is (e-)retail and consumer behaviour. He has taught courses, given presentations and written papers based on his research using SPSS AMOS.

Delegates should bring a laptop with SPSS AMOS loaded on. Lunch and drinks breaks will be provided.

Registration begins at 9-15am. Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea are included in the registration fee. A timetable will be e-mailed to delegates in advance. Delegates should bring a laptop with them with SPSS and AMOS loaded on for the course sessions.

The venue for both the workshops and the users’ meeting is the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit which is located at the end of a quiet residential street off Trumpington Road (A1134), one of the main roads in and out of Cambridge about one mile form the city centre.
